Itinerary Content

Day 1: Sun City

Upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, you will be met by your tour representative then transferred to Sun City Resort just over two hours away. Depending on the time of your arrival, if room is available, early check-in otherwise bags will be held in secure storage at reception and rest of the day is at leisure. The Complex boasts the world-class Valley of the Waves water park and two world-class golf courses designed by the legendary Gary Player. You can navigate the overwhelming number of choices by visiting the Welcome Centre which is a one-stop shop for all the information you need and where you can book the experiences of your choice. Day 2: Sun City

After breakfast, you will start your morning with a 3-hour game drive with a knowledgeable and experienced field guide in this savannah plain where game and Big 5 sightings are the norm. The Pilanesberg National Park is a certified malaria-free game area. Upon return to your hotel, the rest of the day is set aside for you to enjoy as many of Sun City’s facilities as you wish - from casinos to spa treatments. Day 3: Johannesburg

After breakfast you will drive for just under two hours to the Lesedi Cultural Village where you will discover the fascinating cultures and traditions of the people of Africa. You will visit five traditional homesteads of the Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi, Basotho and Ndebele tribes and experience their ancestral customs. In the Giant Ingoma (broad top drum), there will be a song and dance presentation by all five villages just before lunch is served - a Pan African Feast where the more adventurous can test their taste buds on crocodile, kudu or warthog. You will be transferred, just an hour down the road, to your hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, for the evening. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. The multiple award-winning shopping centre, Sandton City, and the adjoining Nelson Mandela Square is minutes away by shuttle. Overnight: Radisson Blu Sandton or similar

Day 4: Cape Town

After breakfast, transfer to OR Tambo International Airport for your flight to Cape Town International Airport where you will be met by your tour representative who will transfer you to your hotel. Early check-in, if the room is available, otherwise bags will be held in secure storage. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore your magnificent surroundings in the Mother City, for example, a walk in Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Or perhaps you are in the mood to shop and dine at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Overnight: Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore or similar

Day 5: Cape Town

After breakfast you will be visiting the oldest surviving building in South Africa, the Castle of Good Hope, a bastion built in the 17th century. The rest of the morning is spent touring the Company Gardens, a sizeable botanical park in the heart of the city planted by European settlers in 1650, where the South African Parliament neoclassical building is located. You then head to the Bo-Kaap (formerly known as the Malay Quarter) where streets are lined with the instantly recognisable, multi-coloured houses. Enjoy lunch at a family-run restaurant serving traditional Cape Malay cuisine with majestic views of Table Mountain and the Mother City. The afternoon is spent on top of the most iconic landmark of South Africa, Table Mountain, which is also one of the NEW7WONDERS of Nature. You start off with spectacular 360-degree rotating views from the cable car, then the abundant views from the summit and the awesome display of very unique “fynbos” vegetation with a variety of over 2,200 species. The most common mammal found on the mountain, the “dassie” (pronounced “dussy”) or rock hyrax. On your descent, you will be transferred to your hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure. Day 6: Cape Town

This full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula begins with a drive of never-ending breath-taking scenery along the Atlantic Seaboard, stretching from the V&A Waterfront to your first stop in Hout Bay. From this quaint village’s fishing harbour, you will take a 40-minute cruise charter, past the famous Maori Bay Wreck, to the protected home of thousands of wild Cape Fur Seals - Duiker Island Seal Colony. You then journey, via Chapman’s Peak where there will be a photo-stop, to Boulders Beach to see the colony of vulnerable African Penguins in their natural habitat. You will visit nearby Simon's Town for lunch. Then, take in the countryside en-route to the southern-most point of the Cape Peninsula - Cape of Good Hope. There are three promontories that tower over 200m above the sea - Cape of Good Hope, Cape Maclear and Cape Point. At Cape Point you take the Funicular Railway to the old lighthouse and panoramic views at the summit. Evening at your own leisure. Overnight: Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore or similar

Day 7: End Of Itinerary

After breakfast and depending on your schedule, you may have some time to catch up with some last-minute shopping before being transferred to Cape Town International Airport for your onward flight home or the next leg of your vacation
